Creating a model

The first step in the workflow is to create an empty model. To do this, open the Create Model form (Modeling> 3D Structure > Create Model).

On the Create Model form you can either create a new structural model or set an existing model to active.

Creating a model

1. In the Model drop-down list select Create new.
2. Type a name for the model into the adjacent text box.
3. Click OK to create the empty model and proceed to the Assign Data step, or click Apply to create the model and remain in the Create Model form.

Activating an existing model

If you want to set an existing structural model as the default model in subsequent steps of the workflow, set it as the active model on the Create Model form.

1. In the Model drop-down list select the model you wish to make active.
2. Click OK if you want to proceed with the selected model. Click Apply to select the model and remain in the Create Model form. Next, click Cancel to close the form and keep this model as default on the rest of the forms in the workflow.
